    The milk thistle plant is a purple-coloured member of the sunflower family. The plant grows throughout the Mediterranean and was brought to the UK by herbalists in the 16th century.

    Extracts of this prickly plant have been harvested for two thousand years, primarily for its natural properties. The key substance within milk thistle is called silymarin. This is a flavonoid compound extracted from the seeds of the milk thistle plant.

    Guaranteed quality from standardised extract

    Many of our competitors advertise their milk thistle as a 3000mg tablet - this is misleading so don't be fooled by this. It is the silymarin content which is important so make sure you check the ingredients list!
