What is Evening Primrose Oil (EPO)? 

Evening Primrose's special property is the oil in its seeds which contains Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA). It plays an essential role in the body helping to regulate many functions.

Why take Evening Primrose Oil?

Evening Primrose Oil is popular for women to be taken around the time of their period or during the menopause. It is also popular with anyone wanting to support the health of their skin.

Our 500mg capsule provides 8% of the free fatty acid content as GLA (40mg) - together with 10mg of antioxidant Vitamin E. As well as being a beneficial antioxidant to the body which protects our cells from oxidative stress, the Vitamin E also protects and stabilises the GLA from oxidative stress which helps it last and remain fresher for longer.

There are two methods of extracting the oil from the Evening Primrose seeds. The first is chemical extraction by using solvents and the second is mechanically by cold pressing the seeds - this is a method similar to the extraction of extra virgin olive oil.  Our cold pressed evening primrose oil capsules are not subjected to chemical solvent extraction.

Just Vitamins Evening Primrose Oil capsule provides 500mg of Evening Primrose Oil in an easy-to-swallow capsule. Each capsule provides 40mg of GLA, along with 10mg of Vitamin E which helps protect the freshness of the GLA in the capsule.

I get a lot of supplements from just vitamins. Generally their prices are v competitive and delivery swift. Recently I've been looking elsewhere as I didn't like the non-recyclable packaging so I was very pleased to receive items of my last order in the new packets. Well done! Although it's REDUCE, reuse, recycle.....the next good move would be a more efficient filling of those packets. I don't understand why there's only 60 tiny vit D pills in a packet when all the vit D tablets in my order would have fitted in there. Afterall a greater number of the larger evening primrose capsules are put in one packet. So hooray for the new packaging, but can it now be reduced too please.
