WHAT INFORMATION OF YOURS DO WE COLLECT?

  • Address & telephone number
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Email address
  • Password
  • IP Address

We need to know your name & address so that we can send your goods to you and verify your payment details. We need your telephone number so that you or our delivery partners can quickly contact you in the event of a query with your order, or your delivery.

We need your email address so that we can send order confirmation and other order-related information to you. We may also send you email offers and news, which we really do think can help save you money and keep you up to date with the latest news from Just Vitamins and also the wider nutritional world. You can very easily unsubscribe from our offer/ information emails with a quick click in the email, or you can adjust your contact settings from the customer area on our website that we call My Account (www.justvitamins.co.uk/my-account). If you prefer, you can email ask@justvitamins.co.uk and we can do the unsubscribe for you. We plan who we are sending our emails to a few days in advance of the send, so you may receive further emails for up to 5-10 working days after we receive your request, but please rest assured that we will start the unsubscribe process as soon as we receive your request.

Some information we ask for is optional – give us your telephone number and we can call or text about your orders. This is handy when the courier can’t find your address, for example, or if there is a problem with your order. We may ask for your date of birth (so we can wish you happy birthday!) and for your gender, so that we can to tailor our offerings to you.

We store some information about your browsing-path through our website and also your interactions with our email-newsletters. We may also segment our own customers based on location and purchase behaviour.  Our communications are designed to tell you about the benefits we can offer so that you have access to our best deals. We use the information we have about you to tailor the content and try to ensure that the offers are as relevant to you as possible. Under the Data Protection Legislation, this might qualify as profiling. If you do not wish us to use your data for this purpose, please contact us and let us know – our contact details are towards the top of this notice.

ADDITIONAL DATA SOURCES

We try to learn what you like to buy from us. Sometimes we use information from other companies that you have shopped with to give us more information about what you like.

On occasion, we may have received personal data from Epsilon Abacus (a data broker) where they have received an individual’s name from another company, which has indicated that they are happy to receive catalogues from us. If this applies to you, you can contact us at ask@justvitamins.co.uk at any time and ask us to remove you from our mailing list.

From time to time, we’ll send you catalogues, special offers and promotions by post and email. It is considered a legitimate business interest for us to use our customers’ details for direct marketing. If you do not wish to receive any further postal or email messages from us (and we quite understand if you don’t but remember that if you unsubscribe we will not be able to send you discount and sale offers) please update your preferences in My Account (www.justvitamins.co.uk/my-account) or email us at ask@justvitamins.co.uk.

As catalogues and emails get printed & planned in advance, it can take up to six weeks for your unsubscribe request to take effect; for emails it may take around 5-10 working days.

We work with Epsilon Abacus (registered as Epsilon International UK Ltd), a company that manages the Abacus Alliance on behalf of UK retailers. The participating retailers are active in the following product categories: clothing, collectables, food & wine, gardening, gadgets & entertainment, health & beauty, household goods, and home interiors. They share information on what their customers buy. Epsilon Abacus analyses this pooled information to help retailers understand consumers’ wider buying patterns. From this information, retailers can tailor their communications, sending people suitable offers that should be of interest to them, based on what they like to buy. You can change this at any time by updating your preferences in My Account (www.justvitamins.co.uk/my-account) or by emailing us at ask@justvitamins.co.uk.

Please note that Epsilon Abacus may transfer data outside the EEA. The transfer will take place in the presence of appropriate safeguards, including standard data protection clauses adopted by the EU Commission. If you would like more information, please write to us at our postal address, or email us at ask@justvitamins.co.uk.

Card payment processing is handled for us by SagePay. We do not store your payment-card details, in fact we never actually see or handle your card details at any point (other than when you advise us of them over the phone and we enter them into our payment system) – our website cleverly opens a secure portal to SagePay at the point that your card details are taken – this is the same whether you place an order on the phone, or manually via the website. This is best practice, so ensures your transactions are private and protected. We receive a confirmation from SagePay that the payment has been taken, then we go on and send you your items to you if the payment is successful. There is a similar technology in place when we take payments through our other payment provider – PayPal.  We only accept orders through web browsers that communicate through SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology – where you usually see a padlock or green flag on the address bar – this ensures that you are speaking to the company that you expect to be (i.e. us).

SHARING YOUR INFORMATION WITH OTHERS

In order that we can process your order we have to share some of your data with our trusted partners.

These partners include:

  • Telephone call centre
  • IT systems support
  • Helpdesk providers
  • Hosting providers
  • Catalogue-mailing houses
  • Payment processors
  • Email-marketing service providers
  • Product & Service reviews providers

All of your data remains within Europe, apart from that contained within some messages that you send us via email and through our website contact form, as our helpdesk provider Freshworks (www.freshworks.com) is based in the USA and holds all data there. Our contract with them includes safeguards to ensure the security of any personal data contained within those messages. Epsilon Abacus may transfer data outside Europe. The transfer will take place in the presence of appropriate safeguards, including standard data protection clauses adopted by the EU Commission.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR INFORMATION FOR?

You can be removed from our marketing database at any point you wish, as detailed above. Where you have placed an order with us, we will keep your transaction information for up to 10 years from the date of your last order, in order that we can comply with our legal requirements for financial reporting and product-traceability.
