Pycnogenol® is the extract from the bark of the maritime pine tree, which grows in south-west France, its use in scientific research is on the increase. Because of its high flavonoid content Pycnogenol® is increasingly hailed as one of the most powerful antioxidants and research shows that supplementing may offer significant health benefits, especially as we get older.

The pine bark extract comes from trees in the natural forest of Les Landes near the famous Bordeaux region.  The trees were initially grown  for timber in Napoleonic times (they are still harvested for timber) and are grown without pesticides in a natural and sustainable environment.
